:: TEACHING #9 & 10 Summary
The revelatory text of Scripture, Nature or
Experience need no expository exhortations to convince us that God’s voice
speaks through these means. We have heard with our own ears the amazing works of
God done on our behalf. Speculation seems trite.
The teaching on our own spiritual senses that enable us to receive this
mediation. We know that we know. The Light of God shines into our own creaturely
light. We are made in the image and likeness of God and have an imprint in our
hearts to see God, face to face, and be among the living.
The three prior dimensions of using our logical thinking mind, our intuition
that grasps the unseen and the backing out our afflictions opens our spiritual
senses and keep them available for God’s in-breaking grace. However, love has
ways of grasping us that comes unbidden. We merit nothing as Christ has already
emptied himself out on our behalf. Our spiritual senses know this already! So,
while this theory of lectio divina from tradition provides intelligibility for
the Spiritual Journey God can simply surprise us any time any where and how God
wills to Come: Emanuel. |
