:: TEACHING #1 & 2 Summary
Lectio Divina is prayer, the encounter of the sacred text with the sacredness
of the reader. The three texts are Scripture, Nature or Experience. We say “yes”
to the in-breaking revelation and begin the practice.
There are two voices of the text and there are two senses of the reader: literal
and spiritual. The image of a river helps us to discern the literal voice above the
river and the spiritual sense below the river.
In the next series of teachings we will follow the practice as it becomes deeper
and deeper. For an experience of doing this lectio divina practice come to one
of our School of Lectio Divina weeks. If you like you might enter into this
virtual school of lectio divina. More to come…. |
